The Canadian Association of Perinatal and Women’s Health Nurses (CAPWHN) represents women's health, obstetric and newborn nurses from across Canada. CAPWHN aims to promote excellence in nursing practice, leadership, education and research in the areas of perinatal and women’s health care.

2017 CAPWHN National Conference

 

Call for Abstracts - CLOSED

 

Thank you to all those who submitted abstracts for the CAPWHN Annual Clinical, Education, Research Conference, to be held October 12-14, 2017 in Halifax NS! We will be in touch with corresponding authors following the completion of the review process.

 

For cost information and budgeting purposes, we anticipate that the registration fees will be similar to the 2016 conference. Follow the Conferences link, past conferences, 2016, registration to access last year's details. 

 

Hotel and travel information for the 2017 conference have been posted. Additional travel options will be posted soon.

Webinars

 

The next CAPWHN webinar, "The Role of Nurses in Supporting Families who are Pregnant After Perinatal Loss: Care, Leadership, and Advocacy" will take place on May 10, 2017. Follow the link above for more info and to register.

The February 2017 issue of the CAPWHN Newsletter is now available. We will be issuing a call for content for the next newsletter shortly. We welcome submissions from all CAPWHN members!

Zika Travel Alert

Pregnant women in any trimester should consider postponing travel to 14 countries and territories in South and Central America and the Caribbean where mosquitos are spreading the Zika virus, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced tonight. Viral infection in pregnant women has been associated with microcephaly in infants. See the CDC website or the Public Health Agency of Canada for more information.
